The Party goes on without my friend Dana, He was the man responsible for building the sound system and teaching a technophobe like me how to put it all together. It is though a testament to his skills that even without him being there the system works and sounds fantastic.

Dana will be missed for sure, but as the Garden Party continues to grow, with more musicians more audience it is down to him that it all works. If you are a musician basically all you need to bring is you instrument and a cord, I can plug you in to the P/a and you can do your thing without worrying about sound quality.
Shoeless Dana Brown
It was Dana's last week at the Garden party, for some reason he prefers being with his lady in the Windy City than spending his Sundays with us. We let him play the drums for a while though despite his bum knee.

Patsy Brown and John Santos entertaining us as usual, they came out to see friend Dana off in style, we missed Bubba though - get well soon buddy and come see us
Probably the smallest member of the audience
This is what the garden party is all about, musicians just palying and having fun

If partgoers wanna dance we are certainly not going to stop them
I guess even musicians deserve a break
This guy came out and played at the Garden Party for the first time, then proceeded to blow us all away, he was good. Any time you wanna come back Frank you will be welcome.
Memorial day is huge out here in paradise, visitors from surrounding area come out here to enjoy the river, the lake, the sunshine and of course the occasional beer. They also thought the Garden Party was a great place to hang out and listen to some great live music - all for free.

A couple of pics of the incredible Evangelina, this girl can sing anything, and she does sing it well. She rocked the place. We hope she will come visit often with us. All the musicians said how much they enjoyed it.
Steve and Rick entertained us with some incredible Jazz, this was ricks first visit with us and he seemed to enjoy himself. we hope he comes more often.
The great thing about these Sunday gigs is that all sorts of different musicians, with different backgrounds and interests turn up just to play. We all like to jam and play different styles and we all like to entertain. Because we are doing it just for fun the atmosphere is incredible, no ego's no hogging the mic, if someone wants to play or sing thats cool with us. In the last two weeks we have heard cool jazz, country, blues, latin, cajun and even some good old rock n roll. So whatever your musical preferences are there is a good chance you will hear some here, and if you play - well bring your guitar we wanna hear you.

The Garden Party

Hi everyone

Welcome to the Garden Party blog. The Garden Party was originally crated by Patsy and Bubba Brown with the enthusiastic help of Me and my Patsy. The Idea is that originally was that it could be a place where musicians, artists, writers, poets you know wierd people could just hang out - make some noise chat and have fun.

Anyone can come to play music, read a poem, sing a song, tell a joke, or just about anything, or they can just come to listen, we start playing usually around 4 - 5pm and quit when we get tired - then we all go home. Check out the photo's and if you find yourself in Canyon Lake any Sunday - swing by we will be glad to meet you/
